Zzish Ltd. End User Privacy Policy

Zzish ("Zzish") values your privacy. At Zzish, we provide educational software that teachers, parents and students can use to understand student learning gaps and track individual learning progress over time. We offer real-time dashboards and progress dashboards that give teachers a rich understanding and process and analyse student answers to give insight that can be used to help teachers personalise their teaching to individual students. In this Privacy Policy ("Policy"), we describe how we collect, use, and disclose information that we obtain about visitors to our websites www.zzish.com and www.quizalize.com (collectively the "Site"), users of our mobile application (the "App"), and users of the services available through our Site and App (collectively, the "Services").

By visiting the Site, using or downloading the App, or using any of our Services, you agree that your personal information will be handled as described in this Policy. Your use of our Site, App, or Services, and any dispute over privacy, is subject to this Policy and our Terms of Service (https://www.quizalize.com/service), including its applicable limitations on damages and the resolution of disputes. What Information Do We Collect About You and Why?

We may collect information about you directly from you and from third parties, as well as automatically through your use of our Site or Services.

Information We Collect Directly From You

** Teachers.** Certain areas and features of our Site, App, and Services may require registration. To register, teachers must provide an email and password. We also may collect additional optional information from you, including first name, last name, primary role, what you teach, and where do you teach, though you are not required to provide us with this information. If you make a purchase on our Site or App, you must provide your e-mail address and password, credit card information, and name on card.

*Students. * We require students to submit a name to use the Site, App or Service. To log on, students simply enter their unique classroom ID, provided by a teacher and a name. If a student creates a full Zzish student account, the student will be required to have a password. We may collect a child's name and other information where directed by the child's teacher. In such cases, we do not use the child's personal information for our own commercial purposes.

** Information We Collect Automatically. ** We may automatically collect the following information about a child’s use of our Site, App, or Services through cookies and other technologies: domain name; browser type and operating system; web pages viewed; links clicked; the length of time spent on our Site or App; the length of time our Services are used; Google Analytics statistics; the referring URL, or the webpage that led a user to our Site; language information; device name and model; operating system type, name, and version; and activities within our Site and App. We may also collect IP address, device identifier or a similar unique identifier from users of our App and Site, including children; we only use such identifiers to support the internal operations of our Site and App and do not use such identifiers to collect information about users outside of our Site or App. We may also collect location information from teacher users of our app and may combine the information we automatically collect from teachers with the information we collect directly.

How We Use Your Information.

We use the information that we gather about you for the purposes such as the following:

  • To provide our Services, to communicate with teacher users about your use of our Services, to respond to inquiries, and for other customer service purposes.
  • To provide students and teachers with information and reports about student performance and use of the Site, App, and Services.
  • To tailor the content and information that we may send or display to users, to offer personalized help and instructions, and to otherwise personalize your experiences while using the Site, App, or Services.
  • For marketing and promotional purposes. We may use information collected from teacher users, to send such users you news and newsletters, special offers, and promotions, or to otherwise contact such users about products or information we think may be of interest. We will not send marketing or promotional materials to student users.
  • To better understand how users access and use our Site, App, and Services, on an aggregated or de-identified basis, in order to improve our Site, App, and Services and respond to user desires and preferences, and for other research and analytical purposes.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. Generally, we may disclose the personal information that we collect to provide our Services, to comply with the law, and to protect Zzish and other users of our Services. For example, we may share the personal information we collect as follows:

  • Service Providers. We may disclose the information we collect from you to third-party vendors, service providers, contractors or agents who perform functions on our behalf. As a member of Student Pledge, we to the best of our knowledge will only contract with third-parties that adhere to the same Pledge principles as members do in regards to security and data retention.   • Business Transfers. If we are acquired by or merged with another company, if substantially all of our assets are transferred to another company, or as part of a bankruptcy proceeding, we may transfer the information we have collected from you to the other company if the company adheres to the Student Pledge (“Pledge”) principles (https://studentprivacypledge.org/) If they do not, users will be given the opportunity to opt-in through notice and choice as to whether their data is subject to the data transfer to the future company in the form of an email notification.
  • In Response to Legal Process. We also may disclose the information we collect from you in order to comply with the law, a judicial proceeding, court order, or other legal process.
  • To Protect Us and Others. We also may disclose the information we collect from you where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Service or this Policy, or as evidence in litigation in which Zzish is involved.
  • Teachers and Other Users. Teachers are able to provide students with quizzes and other educational exercises, as well as receive grades for those assignments, through the Site, App, or Services. As part of this, teachers can see information about a student’s use of the Services, including their performance on certain tasks, assignments, and other activities.
  • Aggregate and De-Identified Information. We may share aggregate or de-identified information regarding teachers with third parties for marketing, advertising, research, or similar purposes. We do not share de-identified information regarding students to any third parties.

Our Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Mechanisms

We use cookies and other tracking mechanisms to track information about your use of our Site, App, or Services. We may combine this information with other personal information we collect from you. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser for record-keeping purposes. Some cookies allow us to make it easier for you to navigate our Site and Services, while others are used to enable a faster log-in process or to allow us to track your activities at our Site and Service.

Third-Party Cookies. We may also engage third parties, such as Google Analytics, to track and analyze data from our Site, App, or Services. We use the data collected by such third parties to help us administer and improve the quality of our Site, App, and Services and to analyze Site and App usage. We use automated devices and applications, such as Google Analytics, to evaluate usage of our Site and, to the extent permitted, our App. We also may use other analytic means to evaluate our Site, App, and Services. We use these tools to help us improve our Services, performance, and user experiences. These entities may use cookies and other tracking technologies to perform their services. We do not share personal information with these third parties.

Third-Party Advertising Tools

We use automated devices and applications, such as Google Adwords, Facebook and Twitter to deliver advertisements online to target teachers who have previously visited our site when they are browsing other sites. We do not directly target advertisements to students. We use these tools to help us encourage teachers who have visited our site to use our site more often. These entities may use cookies and other tracking technologies to perform their services. We do not share personal information with these third parties.

Our Site, App, and Services may contain links to third-party websites. Any access to and use of such linked websites is not governed by this Policy, but instead is governed by the privacy policies of those third-party websites. We are not responsible for the information practices of such third-party websites. Security of My Personal Information

We have implemented a variety of security measures to protect the personal information we collect from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Please be aware that despite our best efforts, no data security measures can guarantee 100% security. You should take steps to protect against unauthorized access to your password, phone, and computer by, among other things, signing off after using a shared computer, choosing a robust password that nobody else knows or can easily guess, and keeping your log-in and password private. We are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or compromised passwords or for any activity on your account via unauthorized password activity.

Access to My Personal Information

Teachers may modify personal information that you have submitted by logging into your account and updating your profile information. Please note that copies of information that you have updated, modified or deleted may remain viewable in cached and archived pages of the Site or App for a period of time.

Marketing Communications

We may send periodic promotional or informational emails to teacher and parent users. You may opt-out of such communications by following the opt-out instructions contained in the e-mail. Please note that it may take up to 10 business days for us to process opt-out requests. If you opt-out of receiving emails about recommendations or other information we think may interest you, we may still send you e-mails about your account or any Services you have requested or received from us.

Data Retention

We will not retain student personal information for longer than necessary to provide our Services or for school purposes. A user can delete their data by requesting the removal of their account on the My Account tab. A request to delete may take up to 3 business days to process after which, the user and their data will be permanently deleted from Zzish and Quizalize.

This Policy is current as of the Effective Date set forth above. However, as the product develops, this Policy may change.
